Job Description

Subsea Technologies has an opportunity for a Draughtsperson to work on subsea product design development and detail draughting.

You will be a member of our engineering team supporting the design engineers in the design and development of our products, bespoke solutions and the creation of detail, assembly and schematic drawings. Working closely with design engineers and other draughtspersons, you will be involved in taking products from initial concept through to the point of manufacture.

The role involves creating new conceptual 3D CAD models or developing those created by other team members and, with input from relevant engineers and other draughtspersons, developing the features and detail tolerancing of the model and subsequently generating 2D CAD drawings using 3rd angle projection.

Our equipment covers a range of disciplines, mainly in mechanical and structural engineering, with elements of hydraulic, electrical and electronic controls providing a challenging and interesting environment in which to apply engineering and CAD skills.

Our primary design software is SolidWorks which is used for all modelling and detail drawing production. All seats are SolidWorks Premium to take advantage of FEA techniques during the design of our products. We also use Solidworks Pipe Routing, familiarity with the use of this add-on would be a significant advantage.

Skills

The ideal candidate would have a background in the design and manufacture of pressure containing and load bearing subsea equipment designed and built in compliance with API, ISO and DNV standards.

The ideal candidate will be able to liaise effectively with colleagues. They will be self-motivated and able to manage changing priorities by working constructively with immediate colleagues while delivering to agreed deadlines.

The right candidate will be experienced in 3D CAD modelling and draughting.

Ideally qualified to ONC or HNC with 2 years mechanical engineering experience, ideally with in the oil & gas industry.

Experience of the following is a requirement:

• Design of machined & fabricated components

• Detailing with dimensional and geometric tolerancing

• Use of industry standards

Subsea Technologies offer a competitive salary commensurate with the experience and skills you bring to the role. A benefits package is also included.

To apply, please send an explanation of why you are the right person for this role, details of your current salary package and your current CV by confidential e-mail to jobs@subseatek.com. Design Engineer

Job Description

Subsea Technologies has an opportunity for a Project Engineer, responsible for scheduling, co-ordinating and managing the delivery of projects on time and on budget.

You will be a member of our projects department with a role which encompasses liaising with our customer, our engineering department, our operations department and managing procurement from our vendors. Typically, you will take a project from award to delivery, however, from time to time you may also be involved with bid preparation.

The role requires the interpretation of the customer’s requirements, the contractual obligation, the requirements dictated by industry and international standards and the capabilities of our vendors, and to work with the engineering team to deliver a final engineered and tested solution to our customer based on those requirements. You will have a background from preferably a mechanical or a related engineering degree, with experience of the mechanical design process, client relationships, vendor interaction and project scheduling. You will be a safety conscious, commercially aware, driven, focussed, accurate individual, focussed on encouraging and motivating those around you to deliver their best on a daily basis, while leading by example. Always aiming to understand the customer’s point of view, exceed the customer’s expectations and deliver the highest quality of product on time and to budget, while maintaining and building on STL’s reputation for honesty, reliability and dependability.

Any project related to subsea equipment delivers its challenges, not least the customer often needing to make changes to the specification as the project progresses, or lead times on the manufacture of complex components made from exotic materials not always being what was expected. As a project engineer you will be expected to use your imagination, technical insights, negotiation skills and scheduling to change plans, optimise work scopes and both positively and constructively challenge apparent barriers to progress from the client, internally and from vendors to keep the project on schedule and budget.

Skills

The ideal candidate would have a background in the subsea oil and gas industry, preferably with experience of the design and manufacture of pressure containing and load bearing subsea equipment designed and built in compliance with API, ISO and DNV standards.

The ideal candidate will have done some previous project management and be used to managing multiple technical, commercial and logistical variables simultaneously to deliver to and maintain a schedule. You will be able to liaise effectively with colleagues at all levels, vendors and customers, be self-motivated and able to manage changing priorities by working constructively with immediate colleagues while delivering to agreed deadlines.

Minimum Degree qualified with an engineering degree, preferably mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years relevant experience, ideally with 2 years in the subsea oil & gas industry. Experience of Microsoft Project would be beneficial.

Subsea Technologies offer a competitive salary commensurate with the experience and skills you bring to the role. A benefits package is also included.

To apply, please send an explanation of why you are the right person for this role, details of your current salary package and your current CV by confidential e-mail to jobs@subseatek.com.
